| Bourne Frostbite Cancelled |
04/02/2012 |
16:00 Saturday 04 Feb 2012 Bourne race is CANCELLED. The race scheduled for tomorrow (5th Feb) at Bourne is CANCELLED. The organisers at Bourne have walked the course today and decided it would be unsafe to run. Snow from earlier in the week has frozen hard and made a very slippery and dangerous course and it's a similar picture in the Woods car park which would make car parking difficult. This, together with the likelihood of heavy snowfall overnight, makes it unwise for us to go ahead with the race. |

The Boothby's managed Riverside Runners RNR Masters Team completed the Round Norfolk Relay in 24hrs 1min 30 secs having had a predicted time of 24 hrs 6mins 06secs. Well done to the Boothby's, all who competed and to those that came along and helped out and supported in what turned out to be a wide variety of weathers - although mainly clearish skies with a slight westerly gentle breeze. However, the end of Kevin's run and the start of Nick's also saw very heavy rain and lightening. The team was : Stage 1 Karl Hiner Stage 2 Keith Pritchard Stage 3 Nicola Jones Stage 4 Malcolm Pritchard Stage 5 Paul Ridley Stage 6 Ian Cameron Stage 7 Ali Cooper Stage 8 Kevin Hickling Stage 9 Nick Scotcher Stage 10 Maurice Hemingway Stage 11 James Bolm Stage 12 Simon Boothby Stage 13 Sam Windebank Stage 14 Keith Ritchie Stage 15 Adrian Jarvis Stage 16 Mark Forster Stage 17 Phil Redden

| Junior Training at Riverside |
26/07/2011 |
I would like to inform the club that Martyn Blackwell has resigned from the Riverside Runners. I would personally like to thank Martyn for his dedication to the juniors and his hard work for the club over the years. I must stress that this will not affect our club’s commitment to our juniors. Junior coaching will continue on Thursday evenings for all juniors and our seven club coaches will continue to deliver the best coaching appropriate to meet the needs of all our junior runners. Saturday morning coaching will briefly stop over the holiday period and re-start in the autumn. Regards Adrian Jarvis - Chairman |

Not normally a newsworthy item but this week it's different - a cracking run by Phil Redden in 18m 46s gained him an age related performance of 84.01%. Anything above 80% is pretty phenomenal, so well done to Phil.

| New Riverside Runners Committee |
08/04/2011 |
Adrian Jarvis has once again taken up the role of Chairman of Riverside Runners. The new structure has Adrian supported by Helen Liddle as Secretary, Mark Forster as Treasurer and Ali Cooper as Vice Chairman. Also on the committee are Lucy Boothby, Liz Hiner, Martyn Blackwell, Frank Scutt and Ian Newland (the latter two both being founder members of the club 24 years ago).
Maurice Hemingway was elected as Club Captain, but following a committee recommendation to an EGM that preceded the AGM, it was determined that the Captain role was not a "committee post".
